Account & Data Deletion

You own your data. You can permanently delete your Ad Shield Scam Radar account, all scan history, uploaded files, and personal information at any time. This page explains how.

1. Deletion by email

If you no longer have the app installed or can't sign in, email privacy@adshieldradar.com from the email address tied to your account, with the subject line Account deletion request. We respond within two business days and process the deletion within 30 days, in accordance with GDPR Article 17 and CCPA §1798.105.

2. What gets deleted

• Your user account record (email, hashed password, language preference)
• All scan history (URLs, text inputs, results, red flags)
• All uploaded files (screenshots, PDFs) from S3 storage
• All ASIN/threat reports you submitted
• Email verification OTPs, password-reset codes, sessions
• Subscription record (active subscription is cancelled with the store)
• Push notification tokens

3. What we may retain — and why

Under applicable laws (anti-fraud, financial record-keeping, tax compliance), we may retain a minimal, anonymized record of your transaction history for up to 7 years. This record does not include scan content, uploads, or personally identifiable information beyond what's required (e.g. invoice ID, amount, country of purchase).

Aggregated, non-identifying threat-intelligence signals previously contributed to the Ad Shield Intelligence Network (ASIN) — e.g. “domain X was flagged as a scam by N users” — are retained without your identity attached, as they protect other users globally.

4. Subscriptions cancel separately

Deleting your Ad Shield account does not automatically cancel your subscription billing with Apple or Google — those are managed by the respective store. To stop billing, cancel in:

• iOS: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Ad Shield Scam Radar > Cancel
• Android: Google Play app > Profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Ad Shield Scam Radar > Cancel

5. Timing

In-app and email-requested deletions are processed within 30 days, typically within 1–2 business days. After deletion, your data cannot be recovered.
