Overview
Ad Shield Radar ("we", "us") operates the adshieldradar.com website and the Ad Shield Scam Radar mobile apps for iOS and Android. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to both the website and the mobile apps.
What we collect on the website
When you submit a URL, text message, image, or PDF on adshieldradar.com, the content is sent to our backend (api.adshieldradar.com) and analysed against a small set of third-party security services. The submission itself is not tied to an account, and we do not log your IP address alongside submission content.
What we collect in the mobile apps
When you sign in to the Ad Shield Scam Radar app we collect: account data (email, display name, password hash, email-verification state); scan content (URLs, messages, screenshots, and PDFs you submit, plus the analysis result); subscription data (receipt identifiers and current plan, returned by Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see your card details); push notification tokens (only if you opt in to notifications); and diagnostic data (anonymised crash reports and performance traces via Sentry, used to fix bugs).
How we use what we collect
We use this data only to operate the service: to return scan results, keep your scan history available to you, manage your subscription and billing state, send transactional notifications you have opted in to, and diagnose crashes. We do not use scan content or account data to train models, profile users, or target advertising.
Third parties we share with
We forward the minimum necessary content to: Google Safe Browsing and VirusTotal (URL reputation lookups), OpenAI (content analysis for scam classification), Crawl4AI (page rendering for URL scans), Apple App Store and Google Play (subscription validation and lifecycle webhooks), Amazon Web Services (hosting, database, email delivery via Amazon SES), and Sentry (crash reporting). These providers receive only what is needed for their specific function and are bound by their own privacy terms. We do not sell personal data to any third party.
Retention
Public website scans are kept only as long as needed to return the result and are not associated with any account. In-app scan history is retained for the lifetime of your account. Crash reports are retained for up to 90 days. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time, which removes your scan history and account data; subscription receipts may be retained where required by tax or audit law.
Your choices and rights
You can review and update your profile, delete your account, and opt out of push notifications from inside the app. You can manage your subscription from your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. If you are in a jurisdiction with data-protection rights (EU/UK/California and others), you can request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal data by contacting us at the address below.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS in transit, encrypted storage at rest on AWS, and standard access controls. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you promptly as required by law.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page and, where appropriate, communicated in the app.
